Forks of Ivy Stream Porch

“We’d like a screened porch overlooking the creek”. That was the request of the clients, friends of friends who live near the Ivy River outside of Marshall. This Porch and creek Perch addition had to fit against the existing slightly out of square house and between immovable boulders, but the connection to that creek is truly soothing. My roots are in construction and this project is an example of having an architect that knows how to build things – I was responsible for the design and the construction, in partnership with my colleague Jim Howe of Roaring Fork Woodworking.
